777 welcomed Admiral Jean and Commander Butz aboard to inspect and help judge the station's science fair, although they were unaware of the surprise ending that lay in wait for them. At the conclusion of the fair Lt. JG. tr’Lareth-Movar unexpectedly became possessed by a wave of grief and anger, and suddenly launched a seemingly calculated attack on the Admiral and then a much less calculated one on the Station Commander. Overcome with horror, Commander Butz attempted to take the Romulan's life, but both were transported to the brig.
The strange happenings continued with more and more people exhibiting the same pain and grief that Saren experience during the first attack. The entity involved did not stop at Saren, and proceeded to possess both Lt. JG. Rose and then Lt. JG. T'she trying to halt medical work to save the Admiral's life. A short while later the entity then possessed Lieutenant tr'Torre'vnau, but struggled to stay conscious with impaired vision as the bright lights were too much for a Reman body without proper protection.
The final showdown occurred in the brig where CSO Lhai'Ivek and other Science officers were trying to comfort Saren whilst also trying to fend off the entity. Ensign Umali discovered the presence of Chroniton Particles and he and Evoras were able to force the entity to materialise, stopping it from possessing anyone else. A day later the entity was identified as Nirral tr'Havraha. It was speculated that he had been almost killed during the Hobus Supernova but knocked out of phase by technology aboard his ship, resulting in him turning into this 'ghost' capable of possession. Medical officers were unable to save the life of the 'ghost,' but with their efforts, he did not die in pain.
Out of nowhere, a D'deridex class ship had come out of it's singularity jump near the starbase. Identified as a Star Empire vessel, the IRW Kinaen was seemingly barren and dead, as well as a victim of Borg assimilation - such conclusion came from the visual analysis of the ship, as well as the numerous scans made, including a probe, that showed a negative on life signs. Thus, a decision to send an away team to investigate the Warbird further was made, and as soon as volunteers had assembled into three smaller teams, Eventide was deployed to transport them closer to the derelict vessel.
During their investigations, the away team made a discovery of numerous dead bodies - all belonging to Tal Shiar - as well as the inner corruption of the vessel by the Borg. Team One then made their way towards the available medical rooms to see if anything was discoverable there; Team Two went to the Security sector, discovering the rest of the dead bodies; and Team Three took it upon themselves to go to the engineering, to try and fix the Kinaen's faulty singularity core.
The unnerving discovery of a pod with a living body inside, made by Team One, and the discovery of a victim of assimilation, made by Team Three, were interrupted by Kinaen herself, who, all of a sudden, became active once more - and by performing another singularity jump, she - as well as the whole away team - disappeared from the Eventide's, and the station's, radars, leaving the rest of officers with the task of retracing her trail in efforts to return their colleagues back home.
Meanwhile, the surviving members of the IRW Kinaen crew became active as well - and, upon discovering Starfleet onboard, they were rather displeased by what they saw. But, through some talking and diplomacy, the Starfleet officers were successful in avoiding conflict and even managing to come to some sort of compromise. It was made known to them, that the IRW Kinaen, due to her crew being sympathetic to the resistance movement and disobeying some of the orders made by their new masters under the Free State, was decided to be inhumanely experimented upon by artificial assimilation of the whole crew. Hundreds of her people were sent away, leaving only five, including the Commander, to try and fight back against the Tal Shiar. In the end, they failed - but managed to take out both the scientists, and the Borg drone.
Just as the away team and the crew began their discussion on how to proceed, the Eventide had came to reclaim the officers. Instead, she brought back the whole D'deridex - and, after the Starfleet officers were safely brought back to the station, the Republic escorts came to lead the IRW Kinaen to Mol'Rihan - where her, and her remaining crews faith will be decided upon.
Upon receiving a request from one of the Mol'Rihan's wildlife reservations, an away team had been assembled to assist with a mission of finding and apprehending some poachers. Upon beaming down, they had met up with a park ranger, a Ferengi named Bawbee, who set out to be their guide. She had also informed the team about the dangerous flora of the reservation - a rosebush-like plant, who's pollen caused those who inhaled it to become sick and display rabies-like symptoms, before ultimately succumbing to death.
After gearing up to prevent any contact with the pollen, the team set out to search for the poachers, who were hunting down the local epohh population. The critters seemed to be one of the only living organisms capable of coexisting with the roses, and even fed on them - unfortunately, that seemed to make them a poacher target, attracted by the unusually bright red coats of the epohhs. The poaching resulted in the plant spreading - and with that, grew the deadly area of it's spore-like pollen, and unfortunately it backfired spectacularly...
While hot on their trails, the away team encountered a gone rabid Ferengi, one of the poachers, who attacked them, managing to land a bite on one of the scientists, before getting subdued via stun shots. It wasn't long after that they had discovered the evidence of even bigger, even worse danger - a lone iymn'irrhae, a huge and dangerous Rihan animal, seemed to be going rampant around the area. After only a moment of hesitation, the team continued their mission.
They discovered the poacher camp and the iymn'irrhae, who didn't waste time and attacked them, severely injuring Bawbee and scattering the Starfleet officers around the campground. After a shootout battle, they had managed to stun it - and kill it, but not before the rabid steed bit another officer, making their situation even more severe.
The surviving poachers were discovered not long after, and given away to the Mol'Rihan authorities. After that, the scientist and medical officers combined their efforts in successfully finding a cure for their sick colleagues - and any future person unfortunate enough to have an encounter with the rabid roses.
After the merchant ship the SS B'Ald docked at 777 peddling exotic tribble furs covered in tribble fertiliser, tribble pandemonium erupted! It wasn't just tribbles to be careful of but their more dangerous and cannibalistic variant-- the cannibal tribble! Command was quick to call yellow alert and have non-essential personnel confined to quarters, whilst medical was on standby for any tribble-related injuries. Tactical and security worked together to fend off the furry invades, whilst OPS and Engineering stood by to help Science who was already underway with cooking up a solution.
After some investigating and research, a fertiliser neutraliser was created as well as a tribble mutation virus that would create more cannibal tribbles. Just for extra measure, the Captain also called red alert and evacuated the station. Science, OPS, and Engineering worked tirelessly to distribute the cure and soon the station was rid of the tribbles!
Following the events of the Kon-Tiki crisis, the USS Kon-Tiki, now restored and on its way to the Starfleet museum, made a short stop off at Starbase 777 for refuel and resupply. While docked, a power surge onboard the ship leads to the awakening and propagation of the bio-electric entities previously referred to as ‘ghosts’. The ghosts wrought havoc on the station, causing power outages, strange glitches, creepy computer problems and more. These entities were non-sentient masses of bio-electric energy formed from the crew of the Kon-Tiki and replicated by the power surge of the anachronistic 22nd century warp-core of the ancient ship. Through quick thinking of the crew of Starbase 777, they figured out a way to dissipate the ghosts energy fields and bring the station back to business as usual.
Starbase 777 received a distress call from a vessel from the Allied Fleet Service, known as the New Dawn. With the ship being not too far away, it was determined that 777's own ship, the USS Eventide, should respond. Upon arrival the Fleet Service's ship was found unmoving - but there was no signs of what may have caused it to become dead in the water, or any signs of damage whatsoever. Upon hailing them (which took a strange amount of time to answer) the ship's captain - a familiar face to some - expressed that there was nothing wrong. Apparently the distress call had been made in error while a communications officer was performing maintenance, and further comms issues explained the reason that the hail had gone unanswered for so long. After an unfriendly back-and-forth, the hail was cut off... Although the Eventide's crew then noticed a strange pattern in the other ship's running lights -- spelling out SOS in Morse code.
Under the guise of beaming aboard to investigate the issue with the lights, away teams headed over to the New Dawn. Going up and down the ship they questioned numerous members of the staff to attempt to find out the truth - and to find out why the commanding officer on the bridge had been so hostile towards the Eventide. It was discovered that people had noticed strange things happening aboard the ship. The CEO expressed concern that some members of the bridge crew had acted fine initially but had become more hostile as of late, even hosting secret meetings behind the backs of others. The CSO had also noticed people suddenly acting differently and that senior staff meetings had also not been going ahead. Additionally, the CMO expressed that multiple officers had not attended their physicals. On the other hand, some officers acted particularly unfriendly towards the away team, including the CTO and COO who became even more threatening towards the crew.
In the brig, one group met the COS who appeared to be interrogating someone - this was the comms officer who was supposedly responsible for the distress call's activation. It became evident that the commanding officer had lied, saying that this officer had been sent back to their quarters, but instead they were in the brig. Convincing the COS to step aside, the crew managed to speak with the officer in question. Ensign Gaal explained that, being Betazoid, they had become increasingly more aware of the change in personalities of some of the bridge crew. Not knowing who to trust, they had felt the only option was to bring another ship into the mix - hence the distress call. Meanwhile, another group investigated the uninhabited decks to find out the source of the ship's running lights acting up. They discovered an exocomp manually flicking the lights on and off to create the pattern of 'SOS,' and when they went back up into the ship again, they ran into its owner. erei'Erein t'Xeret explained that she was friends with Ensign Gaal and had created a back-up plan in case it looked like the responding ship might leave without investigating their concerns.
After re-grouping and discussing their next steps, the away team decided to finally head to the bridge. There, they confronted the CO and XO - only to find the CTO, COO, and COS filing in behind them. After a confrontation during which the away team were told to leave and flat-out refused to, all of the New Dawn's crew which had been acting suspiciously suddenly acted in unison: triggering the ship's self-destruct sequence. A fight subsequently broke out on two fronts; melee combat on the bridge and space combat between the two ships, as the New Dawn tried to manoeuvre closer to the Eventide to take it down with them. After a struggle against the crew who revealed themselves to have some form of shapeshifting abilities, their efforts were thwarted by the away team defeating them on the bridge, and engineering officers managing to disrupt the self destruct sequence. The real crew of the New Dawn were assisted back to Starbase 777, any of 777's own who were injured during the fight were treated... And the shapeshifters of the New Dawn's senior staff were transported to 777's brig, where their motives remained unclear and yet to be discovered.
