- This species is not a member of the Federation. In order for a character of this species to apply to Starfleet Academy, they will have required a letter of recommendation from a Starfleet officer ranked Commander or higher.
- While on their homeworld, the Ba'ku have the ability to slow their aging and have perfect health. When they have left their homeworld, they no longer have these abilities.
