¶ Background
The Somerville-class USS Eventide (NCC-93233) is permanently assigned to the starbase in order to expand its defensive, research, and intelligence gathering capabilities. While small, the ship has multiple key abilities; warp-signature masking, a cloaking device, and the use of mycelial spore bursts. Command of the ship falls under Riov Rai tr'Torre'vnau and Commander Xaran Aisut, who also assist on 777 while the ship is docked.
When the Eventide is deployed, 777's department heads remain on the station while the assistant department heads take charge of their respective divisions on the ship. In the event of the assistant head being unavailable, this position can be reversed or command of the department may fall to the next highest ranking officer. Any member of staff aboard 777 can help to man the ship when needed and can attend missions away from the station.
